If you have had a successful exchange with Intervac please email to tell me about it. It makes a lot of difference to people who are thinking about home exchange for the first time.
Successful Exchanges
Fifteen exchanges
"We have been members for about nine years and enjoyed fifteen exchanges, throughout the UK, Europe and America. We have just returned from another wonderful summer holiday in Europe, exchanging with a family in France, who had a brilliant time in England despite the weather!" Gary and Tamsin Warsop-Thomas
Who wants to stay in a hotel?
'"We have returned home today from America after a wonderful holiday. We swapped with a family from La Canada just north of Los Angeles. It has to be one of the most beautiful little towns on earth. .... Their home was magnificent and their neighbours were friendly & welcoming (we were invited to a BBQ to meet as many neighbours as possible who lived in their little road). Who wants to stay in a hotel??" Richard Edwards
The list goes on and on
"We advertised for Europe. We had offers from Barcelona, Chateauroux, Rioja, Essen, Bavaria, Copenhagen, Nijmegen, Madrid plus holiday home in Alicante, Perth Australia. . . Seville plus a holiday home in Andalucia. We have also . . . been offered a cottage in Tuscany, a holiday home in Amalfi, Atrullo in the Itria valley in South East Italy, a place with yacht and private beach in Stockholm, many homes in Provence and Paris . . the list goes on and on. . " Kate Culley.
Keep up the good work
"We have exchanged four times this year with Bruges, Copenhagen, Oslo and St Gallen in Switzerland. Two of them were repeat visits as they were so nice. Keep up the good work!" Patrick and Ann White. .
A very good first year
'"We had a very good first year as Intervac members. There were lots of offers and three very successful exchanges with a weekend in Paris, ten days in Lido di Jesolo, which is the Venice seaside, and two weeks in Tours, in the Loire valley." Patricia Judd and Andrew Yeo .
Friends for seventeen years
"Seventeen years ago we swapped to a gingerbread house in New York State. We are the best of friends and every year we try to get together in New York. We have also kept up with friends in Florida who, unbeknownst to them, swapped with friends of our friends in New York State. How is that for a coincidence! Our daughters say that we have had so many interesting holidays in places we would never have seen but for Intervac." Lucille Strachan.
Intervac is fabulous
"Our exchange partners from Vancouver arrive on the 1st and then we are off across there from the 3rd-15th. On the 15th we fly to Toronto to stay with another Intervac couple who stayed with us earlier this year, to do the sites and then return on the 19th. Intervac is fabulous!" Wendy Taylor.
Twenty years and counting . .
"I just had a two week trip in the Rockies, and my next port of call is a hospitality swap with a couple in Kingston Ontario. I was supposed to be doing a few days hospitality swap with someone in Ottawa but that fell through as he is an MP and they called an election! I have had some great swaps since my husband died and I have been travelling alone. I am always singing the praises of Intervac; its getting to be 20 years we have been members". Lynne Brown
Beat the crunch!
"We think Intervac is great. It is the only way my family of five can go on holiday in the present financial climate! We are looking forward to our next exchanges in Paris for Christmas and Sweden for the summer." Catriona Watts.
The world is our oyster
"I think a picture of the outside of your house would attract more attention on a search. It is a small thumbnail and a picture of an internal room does not say what sort of house it is." Brian Hayes. "Thanks for this advice on the picture - I will try to get one if I am ever home in daylight hours! I am really impressed with Intervac so far; We have had loads of offers and I feel like the world is our oyster!" Heather Buxton.
